Client Aide

Responsibilities:  Assist, Supervise and interact with clients to help ensure their safety and well-being. Daily record keeping.  Perform some reception and referral tasks and medication reminders as needed.  Some light cleaning.  May require client bathroom assistance and other duties as assigned.  Obtain 10 hours of work-related training annually in addition to initial orientation training.  

Qualifications:  Must be at least 18 years old, satisfactorily pass pre-employment tests and screenings.  Demonstrated competency in working with functionally impaired adults.  Specific training, education, or experience with caring for the elderly as well as CNA or other medical/psychological/social work background a plus.

Requirements:  Food Handler's Permit, First Aid and CPR Certifications

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Administrative Assistance

Onsite opportunity for individuals who enjoy organizing.  Duties to include checking accuracy of records and files, general filing, answering and directing phone calls, writing donation thank you notes, data entering/tracking, assistance with mailings, using copy machine/printer for

scanning and making copies

of documents, may include document creation and various other administrative duties.

Activity Planning

For individuals who like to create, organize and/or present engaging activities or outings tailored to fit the unique needs of our clients.  Volunteers work with the Executive Director for brainstorming, planning, coordinating and facilitating activities.  May include contacting presenters, or venues and creating supply needs list for activities and other duties as deemed necessary for carrying out the activity.

Client Companion

If you are a good friend and enjoy interacting and providing support to others, this opportunity could be a good fit.  Client Companions encourage client participation and assist them during activities and outings.  Volunteers engage clients in positive conversations and offer support to enhance their overall sense of well-being

and safety.

Community Outreach

For individuals who enjoy public speaking and presenting.  Duties include sharing information about Lighthouse Adult Care Services, it's mission and it's needs in a variety of settings.  Presentations to community members can also include information from your area of expertise of ways to prepare for eventualities and support the aging population along with caregivers in their roles such as emergency preparedness, medical advance planning forms, legal planning services including general power of attorney, bequests/endowments, wills and trust, long-term care insurance and other beneficial insurances, pre-paid funeral plans, financial planning and more.  All presentation topics must be approved by the Executive Director and align with the organization's mission.

Fundraising Volunteer

A diverse opportunity for individuals and groups who are passionate about raising funds to assist us in our mission of providing support to

caregivers and adults 50 and older who need supervised care. 

Options available:

  • Grant research and application assistance.

  • Forming business and community partnerships

  • Creating and presenting fundraising ideas

  • Assisting with solicitation of all forms of donations

  • Special Event assistance

  • General fundraising support through social media and other forums

  • Offering and implementing additional ideas

Marketing/Tech Support

Media Volunteer

A great opportunity for an individual who enjoys social media platforms including FaceBook, Twitter, Instagram and/or Website Design.  This position allows the flexibility to volunteer at home with hours that fit any schedule.  Duties include maintenance of website and social media accounts.  A basic working knowledge of website design and social media is required.  A knowledge of film and photography is helpful.

Marketing/Tech Support

Marketing Volunteer

A way to tap into your creative side by assisting with newsletters, marketing campaigns, creating advertising and marketing materials and emails, in addition to other ways of promoting Lighthouse Adult Care Services with their special events, fundraising campigns and community outreach services.  This position offers the flexibility for volunteers to perform their duties onsite and/or at home.

Outing/Field Trips

For adventurous individuals who like to be outside and go places.  Duties include providing ideas of outside and field-trip activities for clients; providing assistance with making arrangements with venues; organizing and/or providing transportation and helping to provide client care or supervision during the outings.
